Posted by Unknown on Saturday, February 5, 2011

While many considered iPhone not suitable for first person shooters, games like Doom Classic and N.O.V.A. proved them wrong in their face. On the other hand, it wasn’t that hard for the sports games to settle in, or you might say that the iPhone’s accelerometer and touch screen make it a perfect device for sports gaming. Today we take a look at 10 best sports games on the iPhone.

One optional feature of the game is running your players using the accelerometer, although not everyone would find it very pleasing, it still is a plus point if your change your mind.

3. Let’s Golf

Pretty much like all the other games in our list, this game will also appeal to the casual gamer, not necessarily to only the hardcore sports gamer. This game offers 4 full 18-hole courses to play. Controls are easy and the graphics are really good to the eye. The game is hard, but not very hard and it is easily one of the best sports game available for the iPhone.

2. Madden NFL 2010

This, second game from EA in our list, comes in at number 2. It gives you commentary to listen to, or if you like, to your own music. One particular feature of the game is that it allows you to draw hot routes on a play, allowing you to design your own plays on the fly. Another feature of Madden NFL 2010, that possibly is the best, is the “action control time”; tapping the stopwatch button on the screen slows down the game and the players move at half of their original speed giving you an opportunity to spot your openings in the field. Overall, this is a good game to have for your iPhone that looks good and plays even better.

1. Tiger Woods PGA Tour

Another game from EA tops our list. Tiger Woods PGA Tour offers you to create your very own golfer and then you can either practice around or get straight into the competition. The gameplay is good and simple; you pull down your finger on the given meter to set power for the shot and puch it back up to set the accuracy, after selecting your club and directing your shot. Even the lack of multiplayer component doesn’t keep this game from being highly recommended. A must have!
