Sony Online Entertainment is about to release a brand-new MMORPG based on the characters of DC Comics, which includes the likes of Superman, Joker, and Wonder Woman. DC Universe Online is set at present time, where players assume a hero or villain character and take on quests from their mentors (Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman for the heroes; Joker, Lex Luthor, and Circe for the villains) as well as other non-playable characters.
There are, however, several downers in playing this game. For one, players cannot choose to play as Superman or The Joker because they serve as your mentors. Oh, and did we mention that the game is not free in the first place?
The MMO will cost US$15 per month to play or go for a lifetime subscription for $199. The hard copy, meanwhile, will be $49 for the PC version and $59 for the PS3. Those who have played the beta would have to start over once the game becomes officially live on January 11, 2011.

Then log into the AppUp and see that the US$4.99 fee for Angry Birds is waived.

If you decide to skip on this offer, you need to know that Angry Birds will also come to Facebook soon, so there is no excuse for you not to play it.

Samsung has launched very fantastic phones in recent years and tries to make a difference with each and every phone for the mobile community. It used Android and Bada operating system in its phones and recently, it developed its own operating system which is being run in at least five of its handsets respectively. Samsung plans to use Windows Phone 7 operating system in its handsets which has been developed and officially announced by Microsoft Corporation this year. The Samsung Omnia 7 i8700 has got Windows Phone 7 operation system and the rest of the features and the specifications are mentioned below.
Design
samsung-omnia-7 The phone has got a candy bar design and a big display having keys like Back, Windows and Search. The size of the screen is four inches and it is a TFT capacitive touchscreen. The resolution of the display is eight hundred by four hundred pixels respectively. The fact is that the screen is an AMOLED screen and it is also present in other handsets of Samsung as well. Hardware and Operating system
The operating system running in the phone is Windows Mobile 7 and it has got a platform which enhances the capability of the phone. There is a Snapdragon Qualcomm processor with a processing speed of one gigahertz as well as a five hundred and twelve megabytes RAM in the phone. The internal memory of the phone is eight megabytes and that it makes the operation and usability in a fast and efficient way. The phone has also got in-built Windows Office Mobile and this allows the user to manage, see and edit office applications like MS PowerPoint, MS word and MS excel respectively.
Connectivity
The phone has got support for many connectivity options and they include EDGE, GPRS, 3G HSPDA, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and a Blue tooth 2.1 with A2DP respectively. Not only this, there is a platform to support microUSB 2.0 and a Global positioning system with A-GPS support as well.
Market researchers from IHS iSuppli obtained a sample of the new CDMA iPhone 4 sold through Verizon and discovered that the device is not just a CDMA conversion. It feature several changes that hint to modifications the UMTS/GSM version will receive as well.
Most notably the CDMA iPhone has a modified antenna design: The device has a dual-antenna (the original device had a single antenna) to improve signal reception. Early reviews that indicate that the reception quality of the device has improved and the number of dropped calls has been reduced could very well be an effect of the new antenna design (in addition to possible network advantages). Apple faced criticism last year over reception issues of the fancy iPhone 4 antenna.
IHS iSuppli als found an integrated GPS chip in the CDMA iPhone 4, as opposed to the discrete GPS chip in the UMTS/GSM device. The market researchers identified the new Qualcomm MDM6600, which carries the GPS feature, as an entry-level GPS solution that is typically used for embedded wireless modules. The change reduces device complexity for Apple – as well as the production cost of the iPhone 4.
Both changes are likely to come to the AT&T iPhone 4 as well in the form of an iPhone 4.5 update, possibly as soon as the white iPhone 4, which, apparently, will be available in the near future. So, if you are getting an iPhone 4 on Verizon, you are not buying an old phone. It is, in some way, superior to the AT&T iPhone 4.
While many considered iPhone not suitable for first person shooters, games like Doom Classic and N.O.V.A. proved them wrong in their face. On the other hand, it wasn’t that hard for the sports games to settle in, or you might say that the iPhone’s accelerometer and touch screen make it a perfect device for sports gaming. Today we take a look at 10 best sports games on the iPhone.
10. Air Hockey Pro
Simply put, Air Hockey Pro is the best air hockey game yet, on the iPhone and is a must have even if you aren’t particularly a sports gamer. It costs just $0.99.
9. Playman Track and Field
Featuring 5 different events, from 100 meters dash to Javelin throw, this game will really stretch your fingers to the limit. Circles appear on left and right of your screen where you have to tap in order to perform in the events. Overall, this is a good game to be had and will keep you playing for some time.
8. Flick Fishing
Yeah, fishing games exist on the iPhone too. Basically, a very easy game in which you just have to ensure that your line doesn’t snap after you get a bite. You can compete in tournaments and unlock advanced modes too. Even the casual gamer will find this game interesting and fun to play.
7. Baseball Superstars 2010
A fantastic baseball game that features supernatural baseball players for the ultimate fun. It boasts good graphics, audio and controls and is must have for any sport fan even if you aren’t a fan of fantasy baseball.
6. 10 Balls 7 Cups
Just roll the ball and bounce them into the cups, simple game that offers loads of fun. Good graphics and nice sound make this game worth $0.99 that it costs.
5. Super K.O. Boxing 2
This extremely spectacular game features 3 gameplay modes; Circuit mode, Versus mode and Challenge mode. Your objective is to win the title belt in this boxing game that features 12 unique boxers complete with their own unique attributes and powers. The gameplay is fast paced and immensely fun, so this game is not to be missed, specially at $4.99.
4. FIFA 10
Possibly the best football game on iPhone, FIFA 10 comes in at number 4 in our list. The game features good graphics and commentary, yes commentary. One optional feature of the game is running your players using the accelerometer, although not everyone would find it very pleasing, it still is a plus point if your change your mind.
3. Let’s Golf
Pretty much like all the other games in our list, this game will also appeal to the casual gamer, not necessarily to only the hardcore sports gamer. This game offers 4 full 18-hole courses to play. Controls are easy and the graphics are really good to the eye. The game is hard, but not very hard and it is easily one of the best sports game available for the iPhone.
2. Madden NFL 2010
This, second game from EA in our list, comes in at number 2. It gives you commentary to listen to, or if you like, to your own music. One particular feature of the game is that it allows you to draw hot routes on a play, allowing you to design your own plays on the fly. Another feature of Madden NFL 2010, that possibly is the best, is the “action control time”; tapping the stopwatch button on the screen slows down the game and the players move at half of their original speed giving you an opportunity to spot your openings in the field. Overall, this is a good game to have for your iPhone that looks good and plays even better.
1. Tiger Woods PGA Tour
Another game from EA tops our list. Tiger Woods PGA Tour offers you to create your very own golfer and then you can either practice around or get straight into the competition. The gameplay is good and simple; you pull down your finger on the given meter to set power for the shot and puch it back up to set the accuracy, after selecting your club and directing your shot. Even the lack of multiplayer component doesn’t keep this game from being highly recommended. A must have!
PC gaming means taking video games to the extreme, which means Maingear’s Shift Extreme may be the perfect fit. The Maingear Shift is crazy, high-end gaming rig, which isn’t surprising when you look at the price tag. Those six Grover Clevelands will buy you one of the fastest gaming PCs on the market today. The three technologies that contribute to the system’s speed and price are the Crucial c300 SSD (solid state drive), twin ATI Radeon 5970graphics cards, and the overclocked Intel Core i7-980Xprocessor. The SSD is $500 retail, the graphics cards about $1,400, and the processor about $1,000. What is the other $3K for? It went toward an innovative chassis, excellent workmanship, benchmark testing for the overclocking, and (a little) prestige factor. All of these together give us a high-end gaming PC.
RADICALLY REDESIGNED
SHIFT uses the natural behavior of hot air as an advantage – by rotating the internal components of the PC so that all heat is radiated through the top vents and cool air is drawn in from the bottom, SHIFT can harness the most powerful hardware on the planet with ease. Heat is the enemy of electronic components, and hot-running components are more prone to failure. Large, slow moving fans assist with the airflow and are virtually silent, and also feature removable, washable air filters. Generous, inconspicuous ventilation grates and inlets allow for ample airflow without taking away from the design aesthetics of the SHIFT chassis. MAXIMUM VERTICAL AIRFLOW
All peripheral connections for your monitors, keyboard, mouse, and speakers are made at the top of the SHIFT, and a cover is in place to protect and conceal them. The cover is machined with a grill to allow the hot air exhaust to escape the system. This completes the SHIFT’s 90 degree design, ultimately making the SHIFT a visually stunning piece of hardware, and conveys a look unlike any other PC on the market. NOT JUST A PRETTY FACE
The SHIFT’s vertical cooling design allows us to cool multiple, high-heat graphics cards with ease and without requiring expensive watercooling. Your GPUs will run cooler, quieter, and last longer than in a chassis without proper airflow.
PROCESS FASTER THAN EVER BEFORE
Featuring blistering performance from Intel’s Core i7 and Xeon processors, there is literally no computing task that cannot be tackled by the Shift. Featuring advanced technologies such as HyperThreading, support for integrated dual- and triple-channel memory controllers, and PCI-Express 2.0 expansion, the Shift throws everything but the kitchen sink into an overclockable stack of raw computational power.
LOOKS ARE JUST AS IMPORTANT
Add in the incredible GPGPU processing power of multiple NVIDIA and ATI consumer and professional graphics cards and you’ve got the building blocks for a personal supercomputer. Today’s GPUs are powerhouses and contain hundreds of individual stream processors for massive parallel computing. Everything from video transcoding, encoding, and editing get a speed boost from stream processing. But there’s plenty of room for play, too. With NVIDIA, leverage CUDA technology to enjoy gaming with PhysX – bringing realistic physics simulation to games. And 3D Vision – exclusive technology that throws you right into the middle of the game. Pick an AMD ATI Radeon HD 5000 series graphics card and you have access to the most eye candy with DirectX 11, and ATI EyeFinity technology delivers the ultimate in surround-vision with support for multi-monitor gaming.
YOU’RE NOT GOING TO RUN OUT OF SPACE ANYTIME SOON
SSDs – solid state drives – the latest advancement in hard drive technology. Your PC is only as fast as its slowest component – and with SSDs you’re no longer facing an HDD bottleneck. With no moving parts, SSDs are a densely packed collection of memory modules, with capacity into the hundreds of gigabytes. Absolutely silent. They run cool, and last long. And you can put 12 of them in the Shift. No kidding. SPEED IS EVERYTHING
Quite simply the most reliable, highest performing memory we’ve ever used, Kingston’s HyperX memory delivers where you need it the most. With speeds up to DDR3-2000 @ 2000MHz, we’re making sure that we eliminate all bottlenecks in your PC. ?
BOLD DESIGN
SHIFT is designed with strength and style in mind. That means a sublime blend of a steel skeleton for strength (up to 40% stronger than 100% aluminum enclosures), and beautiful brushed aluminum exterior to reduce weight and increase heat dissipation. SHIFT has confident yet refined lines, and exudes power and authority. Ultimately this makes the SHIFT a visually stunning piece of hardware, and conveys a look unlike any other PC on the market. This completes the SHIFT’s innovative 90 degree design.

We thought it would be prudent to pass along a few more tips and tricks.
Windows key + Left: docks current window to the left side of the screen.
Windows key + Right: docks current window to the right side of the screen.
Windows key + Up: maximizes and/or restores foreground window.
Windows key + Down: minimizes active window.
If you want a more Vista-esque taskbar rather than the superbar (why anyone would revert is beyond me), right-click the Taskbar, go to Properties, check the ‘Use small icons’ option, then change the “Taskbar Buttons” option to ‘Never combine.’
Windows 7 now burns ISO files themselves instead of making users grapple with third-party applications.
For those lucky people with a multi-monitor setup, Windows + SHIFT + Left (or Right) will shift a window from monitor to monitor.
Gone is the “Add Font” dialog. It’s been replaced with a much nicer system. Download a font and double-click it (you’ll be greeted with the familar font window, but you should notice it now has a ‘Install’ button).
Windows 7 now includes Gabriola. This is an elaborate display typeface that takes advantage of OpenType layout to create a variety of stylistic sets. If you press Windows + 1, it will create a new instance of the first icon in the task bar. This is handy if you do a lot of coding and need to open several instances of a program.
If you right-click on a Taskbar icon, it brings up the much talked about Jump List. However, the same can be done by clicking with the left mouse button and dragging the icon “out” (so to speak). This was specifically designed for touch-enabled computers, such as your lovely HP TouchSmart PC.
To run a program as an Administrator, it’s now as easy as holding CTRL + SHIFT when you open the application.
With Windows 7, you can now create a ‘System Repair Disc.’ This is a CD bootable version of Windows 7 that includes the command prompt and a suite of system tools. Very handy for those really tough spots (which, with this still in beta, could be just around the corner). To get to this, simply open the Start Menu and type: “system repair disc” in the search field.
I’m sure there are plenty more Windows 7 tricks up floating around, but these are just the ones that Michael shared with us. Have you discovered any others? Leave a comment and keep expanding this list!
I am sure there are plenty of more out there so feel free to add them in comments.
